Heidi and Celeste win Tack Matters Award at Gold Coast May Show

Wellington, FL (May 31, 2012) – Dressage rider and trainer Heidi Basler and Celeste, a 2005 Rheinland Pfalz Saar mare, competed in style at the Gold Coast Dressage Association May Show, riding away with the World Equestrian Brands “Tack Matters” Award. The Tack Matters Award is sponsored by World Equestrian Brands, the United States distributor of Amerigo saddles and strap goods, Amerigo Vega saddles, Vespucci, E.A. Mattes and Equilibrium products. Basler, of Basler Dressage in Wellington, Florida, was thrilled with Celeste’s performance. “I have had her since she was born. I had her mother,” Basler said. “She’s just getting into the show routine and I was really happy with her at the May Show. Sometimes a covered arena can be a little spooky, but she stayed relaxed.” Basler has been riding at the FEI dressage level for the past 15 years. She is regularly invited to attend the Young Dressage Horse Trainers Symposium led by Scott Hassler. In 2010, Basler was selected to ride Celeste at the USEF Young Horse Training Sessions with Hassler. As the winner of the Tack Matters Award, Basler rode away with a pair of E.A. Mattes Sheepskin Boots. “Our Mattes boots are phenomenal sheepskin boots designed by Peter Mattes and Klaus Balkenhol. They provide optimal protection and allow the joints to move freely,” said Robin Moore, President of World Equestrian Brands, LLC. “Sheepskin’s natural properties reduce friction and increase air flow to the horse’s legs and the sheepskin lining can be removed for easy washing.” Moore congratulated Basler on winning the Tack Mattes Award and on her excellent turnout at the show. “Clean, well-fitting tack is incredibly important in keeping horses happy and maximizing performance,” Moore said.
