Heidi training with Shannon Dueck - December 2011

Heidi and Celeste have started working with Shannon Dueck. Shannon was an individual silver medalist at the 1997 Pan Am Games and was the highest-placing Canadian at the 2002 World Equestrian Games.

USEF Dressage Seat Medal Finals at Lamplight Equestrian Center - August 2011

Congratulations to Tillie and her pony, Darby, who finished 10th in the Dressage Seat Medal Finals 13 & Under division! Tillie also won all of her Training and First Level classes with solid scores in the mid-60s from 'O' judges Gary Rockwell and Linda Zang.

Tillie had a successful showing at the USDF Region 4 Championships and is again qualified for the Dressage Seat Medal Finals in 2012!

Wellington Classic Dressage in the Tropics I & II - July 2011

Heidi and Celeste scored 67.8% in Training Level Test 3 on Saturday, and on Sunday won Training Level Test 1 with a 69.583% and finished third in Training Level Test 3 with a 70.400%.

GCDA Schooling Show - June 2011

Heidi and Celeste competed in the GCDA June Schooling Show at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center in West Palm Beach. They had a super warm-up in the morning, but unfortunately had a tense ride in the covered arena (full of invisible monsters, according to Celeste).

Celeste came back to redeem herself in the afternoon, though, winning Training Level Test 1 with a 72.9%.

Basler Dressage returns to Florida!

After 7 months of teaching and training in the Chicago area, Heidi and her horses have returned to Wellington, FL where she will be training year-round. Heidi has extensive experience at the FEI levels, as well as bringing young horses up the levels. There are limited openings for new students and horses in training from Training Level to Grand Prix.

FEI & FEI Young Horse Workshop with Kathy Connelly - October 2010

Heidi rode both of her horses in a clinic with Kathy Connelly at Legacy USA Stables in Burr Ridge, IL. Kathy is one of the leading international riders, trainers and coaches in the United States. She has won National titles at all FEI levels, including the United States Grand Prix Champion and the United States World Cup Champion. She has represented the United States Dressage Team at the World Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden and was the highest placed member of the Grand Prix bronze medal team at the North American Championships. Kathy has trained extensively in Europe with the late Herbert Rehbein from Germany.

Heidi and Celeste, a 5-year-old Rheinlander mare, worked on transitions, using trot/walk transitions to improve the trot/canter transitions. Celeste was nervous about the canter depart and wanted to rush into the canter, but the trot/walk transitions helped keep her on the aids and balanced for the canter transition.

Heidi and Donna, a 13-year-old Oldenburg mare, worked on the Prix St. Georges movements and Donna showed why flying changes and tempis are "her favorite flavor of ice cream." After showing off her 3- and 2-tempis, Donna was able to do several 1-tempis, by focusing on straightness and keeping the shoulders up in the changes.

Wellington Classic Dressage in the Tropics I & II - July 2010

Heidi and several of her students won the Team Competition with a 67% average:
Caitlin & Lucky - 66% at Training Level Test 3
Heidi & Donna - 69% at Fourth Level Test 1
Hannah & Blossom - 64% at Training Level Test 4

In addition to showing Lucky, Caitlin also competed Donna at Fourth Level.

Blossom competed in her first USDF-recognized show with Junior rider, Hannah, scoring in the mid-60s at Training Level.

The team also had their picture in the local Wellington Newpaper, The Town Crier (page 9).

GCDA Schooling Show - June 2010

Another great weekend at the Jim Brandon Center for the GCDA Schooling Show. Caitlin and Donna won Third Level Test 2 with a 65% and finished second in Fourth Level Test 1 with a 63% (even beating an Olympian!) Not bad considering Caitlin has only been riding Donna for 4 weeks.

Heidi and Dafka (pictured at left) earned a 70% in Training Level Test 4, scoring 8 on gaits and 9 on the stretch circle. Check out Dafka on the For Sale page. Heidi and Koda also scored in the 70s with a 71% at Training Level Test 1 and second place.

White Fences Summer Fun Show - June 2010

Basler Dressage had a great show at White Fences Summer Fun, bringing home all blue ribbons! Heidi and Donna (pictured at left) returned to the show ring together after 5 years and scored 68% at Fourth Level. Dafka earned the Training Level High Score, 72%, and Koda scored 66% in his first recognized show.

March 2010 - USEF Young Horse Training Session & Gold Coast Dressage Association Schooing Show

May was another busy month in Florida. First, Heidi and Celeste were invited to ride in the USEF Young Horse Training Session with Scott Hassler.

Next up, Celeste competed in her first show, the Gold Coast Dressage Association Schooling Show at the Jim Brandon Center. Not only did she win her class, she was high score of the entire show! Promising Young Horses

Heidi is very excited about 2 of her promising young horses by Solomon Farm's Donnerhall son, Der Graf. Pictured at left is Celeste, a 2005 RPSI mare out of Heidi's premium mare, Stardancer. Celeste recently started her dressage education and shows great promise. She's with Heidi in White Fences, Loxahatchee, FL. Click here for video.

Video below is of Celeste's half-brother, Dance All Night ("Denzel"), a 2008 RPSI colt out of Leda (by Le Mode). Denzel was high scoring colt at his keuring and ranked in the top 5 RPSI colts of 2008.

Dressage Seat Medal Finals

Lamplight, July 15-17, 2009

On Friday, Whitney finished 8th in the 13 & under age group with a 7.4!!

Hannah finished fourth in the 14-18 age group, scoring 8.0!! In the final on Saturday, Whitney finished 10th and Hannah finished 15th overall. Both rode borrowed horses and did a fantastic job!

Chelsea & Donna also had a successful show, winning the FEI Junior Individual Test with a 66%. They also scored 64-65% at Third Level and earned their last score for Regionals!! In addition, Chelsea now has half her scores for her USDF Silver Medal!!

Show Season has begun in the Midwest!

Heidi earns her USDF Gold Medal at Bara Trac I in Mason City, IA! She and Cheri are also named Grand Prix Champions.

Heidi and Le Mode are on a roll, too, winning all their classes in the last 2 shows! They were FEI Open Champions at both the Cornhusker Classic and Bara Trac I, and are scoring 60-64% at Prix St. Georges.

Both Le Mode and Mon Cheri are now qualified for the USDF Region 4 Championships and Midwest Championships.

Heidi is one step closer to her USDF Gold Medal after earning a 64.375% at Grand Prix with Cheri! They placed second in the FEI Test of Choice with the highest Grand Prix Open score.

Heidi and Le Mode make their FEI debut, competing in the Prix St. Georges class on Friday! Le Mode, a 9-year-old Zweibrucker stallion owned by Solomon Farm, is still green for the level, but shows much promise. Heidi has had the opportunity to ride him with World Championship team member Betsy Steiner, who was impressed not only with his dressage ability but with his wonderful temperament.
